In honor of World Refugee Day on June 20, Christopher Swain, an NYC native and member of the United Nations Association of the USA (UNA-USA), will swim two miles across New York Harbor from the Statue of Liberty to Manhattan Island to call attention to the needs of the 65 million people around the world who have been forced from home by war and persecution, creating the worst refugee crisis since World War II. YOU can stand with refugees around the world by sponsoring Christopher's swim. All funds raised through this event will be directly contributed to the Adopt-A-Future initiative, a program co-sponsored by UNA-USA and USA for UNHCR, the UN Refugee Agency's fundraising arm, that supports education for children in Kenyan refugee camps. Thanks to philanthropic partners, all funds raised will be MATCHED, doubling the impact of your gift.
